Alexis Conaway, 23, on LiigaPlokin uusin sopimuspelaaja. Conaway on opiskellut kinesiologiaa Iowan Staten yliopistossa. Hänen urheilutaustaansa on kuulunut lentopallon lisäksi myös yleisurheilu ja koripallo. Hän on pelannut sekä keskitorjujana ja laiturina. Kaudella 2018-19 hän ei pelannut liigassa, mutta oli mukana Louisianan yliopiston harjoitusryhmässä.

Alexis on pelannut sekä keskellä että laitapelaajana. Pidän ajatuksesta, että pelaajalla on mahdollisuus auttaa joukkuetta eri pelipaikoilla. Tietenkin hän tarvitsee töitä, jotta hän olisi valmis pelaamaan ammattimaisesti. Hän oli poissa lentopallosta useita kuukausia, ennen kuin palasi harjoitteluun, mutta se ei ole huono asia. Alexis Conaway, 23, after having competed in volleyball, basketball and track & field in high school, studied kinesiology at Iowa State University, where she played as a middleblocker and outside hitter on the volleyball team until 2017-18. In 2018-19 she did not play in a league, but was a sparring player at Louisiana State University.
Headcoach Alessandro Lodi’s comments:
Alexis played both middle and outside and I like the idea of having a player who can help the team in different positions. Of course, she needs to work in order to be ready to play professionally. She was out of volleyball for several months before going back to practicing, but it is not a bad thing. She now knows she really wants to play. She has great enthusiasm and willingness to work on her skills. This fits perfectly into our team culture.

The jump into the pro world is always full of unknowns. It was very important to find a club that I could trust. With LiigaPloki, I know I will be taken care of both as an athlete and a person while living in a community that truly supports the team.
