LiigaPlokin kauden alku ei ole sujunut odotetusti ja seura kokee muutoksen tarpeelliseksi saavuttaakseen joukkueen täyden potentiaalin. Lähes 1,5 kautta päävalmentajana toiminut Kim Buchwald eroaa tehtävästään ja nykyinen apuvalmentaja Hakan Can Turan jatkaa päävalmentajana.
Päätöstä ei ollut helppo tehdä. Kim on työskennellyt ahkerasti joka päivä LiigaPlokin ja koko yhteisön hyväksi. Hän on erittäin pidetty henkilö, ja hänen aina positiivista olemustaan tulee ikävä. Mutta kun asiat eivät toimi, meidän on tehtävä muutoksia, ja mielestämme päävalmentajan vaihtaminen on paras tapa edetä nyt.
Hakan Can Turan on tehnyt hyvää työtä apuvalmentajana, ja seura odottaa hänen tuovan entistä enemmän ajatuksiaan ja ideoitaan joukkueeseen. Hänellä on paljon tietoa Turkin nuorten maajoukkueista ja Turkin Superliigasta, joten paljon jännittävää kehitystä on tulossa. Pihtiputaan fanit pääsevät näkemään Hakanin päävalmentajana Pihtipudas-salissa jo lauantaina, kun LiigaPloki isännöi JymyVolleyta.
LiigaPloki kiittää Kimiä kaikesta, mitä hän on tehnyt seuran hyväksi ja mitä hän on merkinnyt paikalliselle yhteisölle. Hän otti joukkueen haltuunsa viime kaudella vaikeassa tilanteessa ja on siitä lähtien työskennellyt väsymättä parantaakseen kaikkea LiigaPlokissa. Kim on tuonut aina positiivista henkeä, ja sitä olemme vaalineet täällä paljon. Toivomme hänelle kaikkea hyvää tulevaisuudessa ja toivomme näkevämme hänet uudelleen.”
Kim Buchwald: ”Ensinnäkin haluan toivottaa Hakanille onnea joukkueen kanssa. Yhteistyö hänen kanssaan on ollut hyvää ja odotan innolla näkeväni hänet uudessa roolissa päävalmentajana. Yksi suurimmista syistä, miksi aloin tuntea oloni kotoisaksi heti alusta alkaen, oli paikallisen yhteisön, seuran ja fanien hämmästyttävä tuki. Se on todella jotain erityistä, ja sitä tulen kovasti ikävöimään. Jopa niin monien pelien jälkeen täällä, tunteet nousevat pintaan, kun näen vapaaehtoisten ja fanien iloiset kasvot, kun pelaamme kotipelejä. En koskaan unohda aikaa täällä LiigaPlokissa, ja vaikka kukaan meistä ei halunnut tätä loppua, tämä paikka tulee aina olemaan sydämessäni. Ja kuten sanonta kuuluu, kun yksi ovi sulkeutuu, toinen avautuu. Odotan innolla seuraavaa lukua lentopalloelämässäni ja kaipaan lisää.
LIIGAPLOKI MAKING CHANGES IN STAFF
Start of the season has not worked out as well as expected, and the club feels it is necessary to make a change to reach the team’s full potential. After almost 1,5 seasons as head coach in LiigaPloki, Kim Buchwald will now step down, while current assistant coach Hakan Can Turan will be promoted. These kinds of big decisions are never easy to make. Kim has worked hard for LiigaPloki and the whole community. He is well liked by many in Pihtipudas, and his always positive being will be missed here. But when things are not working, we need to make changes. Change in the head coach position is the best way moving forward now to reach the goals we have set for the club.
Hakan Can Turan has done a good job as assistant coach since he arrived in August, and the club look forward to seeing his thoughts and ideas in action. He has great knowledge from the Turkish Youth National Teams and the best Turkish League, so there are a lot more exciting developments to come. Fans of Pihtipudas can already experience Hakan as head coach on Saturday, when we host Jymy. The position as assistant coach in LiigaPloki will remain vacant for now.

He took over the team in a difficult position last season, and has since then worked to improve everything in LiigaPloki. Kim has always brought a positive spirit, and this is something we have cherished a lot here. We wish him all the best in the future, and hope to see him again”.
Kim Buchwald: “First of all I want to wish Hakan good luck with the team. I have had a good corporation with him, and look forward to seeing him in the new role as head coach. One of the big reasons why I started to feel at home right from the beginning, was the amazing support of the local community, club and fans. It is really something special, and that I will surely miss. Even after so many games here, I still get emotional every time I see all the happy faces of the volunteers and fans, before we play our home games. I will never forget my time here in LiigaPloki, and even though this was not the ending any of us wanted, this place will always be in my heart. And as the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens. I look forward to the next chapter in my volleyball life and I am hungry for more”.
